Step 1
Open up Apple Mail.
Step 2
From the Mail menu select Accounts.
Step 3
Select the account you want to add SSL to and click Advanced.
Step 4
In theĀ Advanced window, change the following settings:
- IMAP Hostname or POP Hostname: EnterĀ mail.livemail.co.uk .
- Port: Change the number to 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP.
- Use SSL: Tick this box.
Once done, click OKĀ to close the Internet Accounts window.
Step 5
From the Mail menu select Preferences.
Step 6
Click the Advanced tab and change the following settings:
- Port: Change the number to 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP.
- Use SSL: Tick this box.
- Authentication: Select Password from the dropdown menu.
Step 7
Click Account Information and select Edit SMTP Server List from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) menu at the bottom of the page.
Step 8
Select the SMTP server that you want to edit from the list. Under the Account Information tab ensure thatServer Name is set to smtp.livemail.co.uk.
Step 9
Click the Advanced tab and change the following settings:
- Port: Change the number to 465.
- Use SSL: Tick this box
- Authentication: Choose Password from the dropdown menu.
Once finished click OK.
Step 10
Close the Accounts window, youĀ will beĀ prompted to save your changes, click Save.
